About This Integration

Some American state subsidies require attendance records to be submitted for children who receive subsidized tuition. KinderSystems has created a product called KinderConnect to report child attendance records to some of these state agencies. LineLeader’s Manage product can integrate with KinderConnect so that attendance records are automatically uploaded nightly, eliminating manual effort by staff, eliminating the risk of staff forgetting to report attendance, and thus eliminating a potential wrinkle in your organization receiving your subsidy payments.

Different state agencies have different requirements for their attendance data. Right now, Manage integrates with KinderConnect in the following states:

  • Louisiana

  • Missouri

  • New York

  • Texas

If you are in one of these states and are curious whether your state agency accepts attendance reporting via KinderConnect, reach out to your state agency or KinderSystems (800-991-6120) to inquire, or visit the following state-specific KinderSystems sites:

Enabling a KinderConnect Integration

Enabling an integration with KinderConnect is very easy. You will need your Group Password and a Provider ID for each agency you report to. These will be provided to you by KinderConnect.

If you are an administrator with user permissions to enable integrations, in Manage you can click on Admin > Integrations and you will see an option to manage a KinderConnect integration:

  1. Click “Manage” next to KinderConnect

  2. Enter your Group Password

  3. Enter a Provider ID for each agency you want KinderConnect to report to

  4. Click “Save”

It’s that easy.

Technical Details

Every evening around midnight, LineLeader’s API calls KinderConnect’s API to get lists of authorized customers, authorized locations, and authorized agencies. These are matched to data in LineLeader.

Using that information, LineLeader’s API makes another call to KinderConnect to get a list of children authorized to receive subsidies. These are matched to children in LineLeader.

LineLeader then makes a third API call to KinderConnect, this time providing attendance records for the authorized children.

Because the data for authorized customers, locations, subsidy agencies, and authorized children is refreshed nightly and because attendance data is submitted nightly, the attendance information submitted to KinderConnect always remains current. If a new child, customer, location, or agency becomes authorized during the day, attendance data for the new addition will be submitted that very night.
