LineLeader works with WatchMeGrow (WMG) so a parent can watch their child's classroom while the child is checked in. Access follows check-in automatically. Nobody has to open or close a camera by hand.
How it works
Your center is set up with WatchMeGrow. LineLeader support connects your center to WMG. Your WMG installer or support team maps each camera to a LineLeader room.
You choose which guardians get camera access. An admin turns on Camera Access for a guardian on each child's Relationships tab.
Staff check children in as usual. No extra steps. Check-in, check-out and room moves all update camera access within moments.
Parents open the camera from the LineLeader family app. The app launches the WatchMeGrow viewer showing the room each child is in right now.
Who can watch, and when
A guardian only sees a room when both of these are true:
Permission: An admin has turned on Camera Access for that guardian and that child. This stays until an admin turns it off.
Presence: The child is checked in to a room right now. This changes every time staff check a child in, out or to another room.
Result | Situation |
Can watch | Permission on, child checked in to the Infant Room. |
Cannot watch | Permission on, child not checked in. |
Cannot watch | Child checked in, permission off for this guardian. |
A parent with two children sees one room per checked-in child. If Emma is in the Infant Room and Liam has not arrived yet, the parent sees only the Infant Room. When Liam is checked in, the Toddler Room appears too.
Room moves: When staff move a child from one room to another, the old room's camera is removed and the new room's camera is added. Parents never keep access to rooms the child has left.
Automatic check-out: If your center uses auto check-out at the end of the day, camera access ends at that time too.
What parents see
A Watch Me Grow card in the LineLeader family app, shown only to guardians who have Camera Access on at least one child.
Tapping the card opens the WatchMeGrow viewer. It opens in the WMG app, or takes the parent to the app store if it is not installed.
If none of their children are checked in, the card tells them camera access is unavailable.
Each viewing link is short-lived, so a link that was shared or saved will stop working.
On the family's Relationships tab, guardians with access show a green Camera Access badge. The purple Primary Caregiver badge is a separate setting.
Give or remove a guardian's camera access
Open the child's profile and go to Relationships.
Add or edit the guardian's family relationship.
Turn Camera Access on or off and save.
The Camera Access control only appears when your center has Watch Me Grow turned on. Access is per guardian, per child. Turn it on for each child the guardian should be able to watch.
Map cameras to rooms
Go to Admin → Integrations and open WatchMeGrow.
Choose Open WatchMeGrow. This opens WMG's settings page for your center.
Assign each camera to the matching LineLeader room and set video options there.
Room names matter: Cameras attach to LineLeader rooms. If you rename or replace a room, check the mapping in WatchMeGrow afterward.
Screenshot protection
Admins can choose to protect live streams from screenshots and screen recording. In Admin → Integrations → WatchMeGrow, switch Screenshot Detection on and choose Save Changes.
When it is on and WatchMeGrow detects a capture attempt:
The parent is signed out of the viewer and sees a message that screenshots are not permitted.
Their Camera Access is turned off for all of their children.
The change is recorded in each child's History.
To restore access, an admin turns Camera Access back on for that guardian's relationships. Switching Screenshot Detection off later does not restore anyone's access on its own.
Tell families first: The consequence is automatic and affects every child that guardian can watch. Share your policy with families before you turn this on.
History and accountability
Every time Camera Access is added or removed, the child's History tab gets an entry showing who made the change and when. It reads, for example, "Jordan Lee added WatchMeGrow Camera Access for Emma Rivera." Automatic removals from screenshot detection appear as changes made by System.
Frequently asked questions
A parent says they can't see the camera.
Check these in order:
Is Camera Access on for this guardian on this child's Relationships tab?
Is the child checked in to a room right now?
Is the room's camera mapped in WatchMeGrow (Admin → Integrations → WatchMeGrow)?
Was the guardian's access removed after a screenshot attempt? Look at the child's History.
If all four look right, contact LineLeader support.
Can a parent watch after pickup?
No. Access ends when the child is checked out.
Can grandparents or other contacts watch?
Camera Access is a setting on family relationships. Authorized pickups and emergency contacts do not get it.
Does a delay between check-in and the camera appearing mean something is wrong?
Check-in normally updates WatchMeGrow within seconds. The first time a guardian opens the camera, setup can take a little longer. If the camera is still missing after a few minutes, contact support.
Does a WatchMeGrow problem stop check-in?
No. If the connection to WatchMeGrow fails, check-in, check-out and room moves still work. Camera access may lag until the connection recovers.
How do we turn Watch Me Grow on for a center?
Ask LineLeader support. It is enabled per center, together with a WMG center ID from the WatchMeGrow team.
