How to Change the Display Text for Variable Tags in Emails

When using variable tags like ChildcareFORMS or Parent Scheduled Tour in the email editor, you’ll notice that by default, the word “here” is shown to recipients. If you’d like to customize the word or phrase that appears instead, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Insert the Variable Tag

Add your variable tag (e.g., {{ SelfScheduledTourLink }} or {{ ChildcareFORMS }}) into the email editor.

Step 2: Open the Hyperlink Tool

Highlight the variable tag and select the Hyperlink icon (the globe with a chain link).

Step 3: Update the Link Settings

In the hyperlink window:

  • Display Text: Enter the text you’d like recipients to see (instead of “here”).

  • Link Type: Select URL.

  • Protocol: Choose Other.

  • URL: Paste the variable tag for your Parent Scheduled Tour, Rescheduled Tour, or Enrollment Forms link.

Step 4: Preview and Save

Preview your email to make sure the link looks correct, then click Save.

Your customized display text will now appear in the email instead of the default “here.”
